VIRAJ JIT SINGH is the Chief Marketing Officer of KidZania India, the global indoor theme park that inspires, educates, and empowers kids, helping them understand and manage their world better. Viraj joined the organisation in March 2012 and his responsibility is to lead three key divisions – Strategic Brand Partnerships, Marketing, and Group Visitations.
With nearly two decades of experience, Viraj has immense proficiency in a wide gamut of roles,including market strategy,integrated marketing, ad and sponsorship sales, brand marketing, and inventory management.
Born and brought up in Delhi, Viraj is an alumnus of the Doon School and has a PGP Degree in Management with a major in ‘Strategic Marketing’ and ‘Leadership and Change Management’ from The Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (2006).
On the professional front, Viraj started as the sole distributor and marketer for Wilson Sporting Goods in India in 1997. He then chartered a path in mass media, working with ESPN Star Sports, followed by Reliance Broadcasting and MTV India – Viacom 18, before taking over as the CMO in KidZania.
Under his leadership, KidZania India has been able to drive revenue through sponsorship sales and increased footfalls through group visitations. As the custodian of the brand, his role is to identify corporate positioning and identity, ensure strong relationships with customers, build brand awareness and affinity through marketing campaigns, public relations, social media, and integrated marketing.
Viraj’s long-term goal for KidZania is to expand the brand’s India footprint by successfully launching key centres in the country, and then adapting the format to smaller, but key markets.
As a part of its CSR initiatives, KidZania India commits to 10,000 NGO visitations, annually. This ensures that underprivileged children get an opportunity to visit KidZania and experience career opportunities that they may never get exposure to. Viraj has been instrumental in creating long term partnerships with NGOs like Magic Bus and Make A Wish Foundation, among others, to support this cause.
He was recently awarded the “Most Talented Marketing Professional” at the Corporate Excellence Awards hosted by the World Marketing Congress in 2014.

Runa Ahlawat is Senior Manager Marketing and Corporate Communications of Polaris India Pvt. Ltd. Under her current mandate, Runa’s responsibilities include Brand Management, Media Buying & Planning, Corporate Communication & CSR and all activities of identifying and managing key clients for the Polaris India and Indian Motorcycle® brands. Runa has many feathers in her cap and the marketing initiatives introduced by her have been path breaking in the automobile industry. During Auto Expo 2012, Runa conceptualised and implemented a Brand Experience Zone, wherein visitors could ride Polaris vehicles in a specially created track; this was the first time ever where visitors got a chance to get a first hand on experience of an auto brand during Asia’s biggest auto expo. Seeing the success of this initiative, other automobile manufacturers replicated this customer engagement activity as well in the next Auto Expo (Auto Expo 2014). Runa also looks after the defence business of Polaris India where she builds and manages high value client relationships which are important for every organization.
Runa also manages the brand communication of the super luxury motorcycle business of Polaris Industries; Indian Motorcycle®. Under this mandate, Runa successfully launched the Indian Motorcycle® brand in the country and the entire range of motorcycles; each being a best seller in its segment. The range includes Indian® Chief® Classic, Indian® Chief® Vintage, Indian® Chieftain®, and Indian® Chief Dark Horse®, Indian® Scout® Sixty, Indian® Scout®, Indian SpringfieldTM, Indian® Chieftain Dark Horse®, Indian Scout® Bobber and Indian® Roadmaster®. Even in terms of post sales engagement, she planned and implemented a unique customer engagement program; Indian Motorcycle® Riders GroupTM (IMRG) where Indian Motorcycle® owners collectively go on rides to holiday destinations. The group also plans intra-rides in various cities; all these brand engagement activities have been conceptualized by Runa.
Runa successfully planned and executed a CSR activity that focused on the girl child. During one of the IMRG rides, the group visited Panchgani, an educational Centre in Taighat which is one of the small villages of Panchgani (Talukar Mahabaleshwar, District Satara) where as many as 700 students (out of which 350 are girl students) stay and get free English medium education. In their ride to Mahabaleshwar the group generously donated educational items which gave a humane face to the regular motorcycling sojourn. Under the guidance of Runa, the company is now identifying other centers where this activity can be replicated. Prior to joining Polaris India Pvt. Ltd, Runa was at Yamaha India Pvt. Ltd. At Yamaha too, she was responsible for the entire external and internal communication mandates which also included all Above the Line (ATL) and Below the Line (BTL) activities. During her tenure at Yamaha India Pvt. Ltd she lead successful launch of superbikes R15 and MT01 which were a first on the Indian roads. Some of the BTL activities spearheaded by Runa were a Rock Band Hunt Competition that was held on a Pan India basis which also saw the participation of international bands. At each venue crowds thronged the venue which turned out to be a great brand/customer engagement activity. As part of CSR initiatives Runa planned a program for promoting road safety and safe riding habits. This program was aptly called “Yamaha Safety Riding Science Program”. Here specialized instructors trained participants on the importance of using adequate safety gear while riding and also to avoid riding under influence of alcohol.
During Auto Expo – 2010 Runa successfully managed the maiden Indian visit of Valentino Rossi, the multiple MotoGP World Champion and Bollywood superstar John Abraham. These celebrity visits resulted in Yamaha getting the best publicity amongst peers during the bi-annual auto event.
Runa is an Electrical engineering graduate from the prestigious Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal and a Post Graduate in Business Administration with dual specialization in Marketing and International Business from Amity International Business School, Noida; the country’s leading business school.She was recently awarded the Marketing Professional of the Year 2017 by Times Network Group.
